The Problem
Awareness of NTU’s PGCE routes needed strengthening, particularly for Further Education and Skills, which was underperforming due to a previous OFSTED result. Previous marketing had been generic, and many NTU undergraduates were unaware of the progression opportunities available into teacher training.
The Opportunity
To create an ‘always on’ campaign to position NTU as the natural next step for aspiring teachers. Build awareness, drive event bookings, and boost applications across PGCE courses.
The Process
Developed the Teach NTU progression campaign, highlighting funding, employability, and making a difference.
Worked with academics and central teams to reach potential audiences across different undergraduate courses.
Attended 13 events throughout the year including DfE recruitment events, careers fairs and strategic partners to raise awareness of the courses.
The Outcome
Strengthened NTU’s teacher training brand and awareness through careers events.
400% increase in PGCE Further Education and Skills event bookings.
100% average rise across PGCE Primary, Secondary, and Early Years event bookings.
PGCE Secondary Education exceeded its recruitment target by June.
PGCE Primary Education exceeded its recruitment target.
PGCE Further Education and Skills achieved its recruitment target.
